Getting is a village located in Tumpat of Kelantan. Kelantan is a state in the north of Malaysia, with an area of approximately 14,922 km². It is located in the northeast of Peninsular Malaysia, facing the South China Sea, and borders the Province of Narathiwat, Thailand. Kelantan is an agrarian (agricultural) state with many rice crops and fishing villages. The postcode used in Village Getting, Tumpat, Kelantan is 16200.
The history of Village Getting is derived from the call ‘’critical’’ due to the erosion of water big flood hours. The village is almost disconnected by two erosion and water flows. During that time and when all the populations were in anxious and critical conditions. After the incident, the residents began to name the village as Getting village, the residents were mostly fishermen. Its area is 320,000 square feet and the population density reaches nearly 5,000 people. The daily activities of the villagers are fishing, besides that, there are also farming. The uniqueness of Getting village is the majority of the villagers are Malays who are Muslims.

The visitors of D’Geting Beach Resort also can see the uniqueness shown by residents in Getting who always hold traditional games such as Kite matches, west Dikir, Gasing, Choh, Congkak, Silat art, and Tomoi. The Visitors can also see the view of Getting beach at dusk between 6:00 to 7:00 pm. You get to witness the uniqueness and beauty of the sky when the sun almost sets. Getting Beach is famous in Malay society and is often used as a destination for family activities. In Getting Beach, there are many events that will surely amaze the visitors. Among the events that are often held in Getting Beach is the National Kite Party. This party never disappoints visitors with a variety of kite displayed. Allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery and allowing visitors to rest their mind and spend time with their beloved family.
Getting Beach is also close to the area which can be said to be quite interesting for tourists to visit. The first is that there is a magnificent mosque built for the public to perform prayers. Meanwhile, next to Getting Beach, there is another beach called Sri Seven Beach. The Sri Seven Beach overlooks the South China Sea which borders the neighbouring country, Thailand. The beach also receives many tourist visits as it has seven exciting bays to see and hold photos by visitors.
Profile background of owner
The owner of the D’Geting Beach Resort is Abdul Aziz bin Hamzah who is only 24 years old. He has been interested in the tourism industry since he was 19. He started his career in the tourism industry by organized a beach resort which is D’Geting Beach Resort in early 2015 and the resort started operations on 07 December 2015. The resort is operated well by Abdul Aziz and was increasingly developed and favoured by the local and foreign public to come to its beautiful and quiet resort which is suitable for traveller who wants to get rid of the stress and having a good and quality time to relax and play.
Abdul Aziz bin Hamzah is the third child in the family. He was born in the state of Johor, Johor Baharu and after that moved to Kelantan. He is still single which is unmarried yet. He was a loved one by his parents because he was an unselfish but more family-conscious person and he wanted to repay the favour of parents before he got married. For him, family members are more important than himself. Thus, he is more focused and diligent in managing his resort to constantly meet his customers' needs and is well received which will enable him to continue to make profits and help his family's finances.
He opened the resort using his savings. Before he was able to open his own resort, he has tried various jobs to support his life. He was once a receptionist in a resort. After a long time working at the resort, he thought of opening his own resort. He had learned a lot of skills to manage a resort during working there. With the experience and knowledge, he has successfully opened up his own resort, D’Geting Beach Resort in 2015 without making any bank loan.
Background information on D’Geting Beach Resort
D’Geting Beach Resort was founded in 2015 by Abdul Aziz bin Hamzah. After working as a receptionist in a resort, he decided to establish his own resort. D’Geting Beach Resort is located inside of a village in Tumpat of Kelantan. D’Geting Beach Resort is a sole proprietorship resort which owns by Abdul Aziz bin Hamzah. He managed all the big and small problems of the resort and of course with the help of the employees. D’Geting Beach Resort currently do not have any branches which mean if someone is interested with D’Geting Beach Resort, he or she has to come to Kelantan to visit it. It’s also the uniqueness of D’Geting Beach Resort because there is only one D’Geting Beach Resort in this world.
Until this day, D’Geting Beach Resort has operated for almost 5 years and gain a lot of loyal customers. This is due to the brilliant and professional service from the worker of D’Geting Beach Resort. The packages that provided by the resort is fair and affordable. D’Geting Beach Resort is mostly welcomed by a resident from Kelantan and Terengganu. They will spend the holidays at D’Geting Beach Resort. So, D’Geting Beach Resort have done some research and modified the product and service provided to customers. They provided promotion and packages that suitable for the customer that visited D’Geting Beach Resort which is family packages. There is also students and teachers that visited D’Geting Beach Resort for graduation trip or organised some seaside activities.
Even if the business of D’Geting Beach Resort is not that good in the beginning, after the hardworking and persistent of Abdul Aziz bin Hamzah and the workers, the resort is getting well and improved. The system of the resort is being changed and transformed to a way that suitable to deal with the customers that come to D’Geting Beach Resort. A lot of loyal customers is gained and the business is running smoothly.
Helen Keller once said “alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”, the successful of D’Geting Beach Resort is distributed by the teamwork between the employer, Abdul Aziz bin Hamzah and his employees. Types of services provided by D’Geting Beach Resort
Resorts offer different types of services which have different impacts on the users’ satisfaction and have an influence in various extents on decision making when it comes to the selection of resorts. D’Geting Beach Resort offers exclusive services and benefits for the comfort of the guests.
A. Food & Beverage Service
The resort restaurant offers three meals a day with extra charges. It also depends on the package taken by the customers, whether it include or exclude the food and beverage service (breakfast, lunch and dinner). D’Geting Beach Resort also offers café and catering services.
B. Parking
D’Geting Beach Resort offers free parking to the customers. Customers could park their cars in the parking lot provided by the resort which is just beside the resort.
C. Internet Access
D’Geting Beach Resort offers free Internet access. High-speed wireless Internet connection is complimentary both in the rooms and public areas.
D. Reception Service
D’Geting Beach Resort provides a greeting and welcoming guest by the receptionist of the resort. He will help customers to confirm reservations, explain hotel amenities, give directions to rooms, and produce room keys.
E. Housekeeping Service
D’Geting Beach Resort provides housekeeping service that keeping the resort clean and comfortable. Housekeeper will make sure the room is clean and ready to use before the customer check-in.

There is a CCTV camera in the resort but only for public area. There is also a security guard in the resort and lifeguard for the swimming pool area.

Inside of the room, the resort will provide air condition, complimentary drinking water, personal care toiletries, water heater, iron (upon request), television, coffee and tea making facilities.

A. Beach Volleyball
Customers can play volleyball along the seaside, the volleyball court for D’Geting Beach Resort is just on the beach which comes from nature.
B. BBQ Spot
D’Geting Beach Resort is located near the beach, it provides a BBQ spot, ingredients and tools to use for BBQ. It is not included in the packages, the guests should pay an extra fee to be able to use it.
C. Tent for Camping & Event
Some of the customers prefer to do a camping vacation during the holidays. D’Geting Beach Resort offers tent ranting for camping and event use.
D. Traditional Games
D’Geting Beach Resort also provided traditional games for the guests.
E. Surau
D’Geting Beach Resort provides surau for Muslim to use.
Acara Sukaneka which need extra cost also provided by D’Geting Beach Resort such as tug of war, balloon games, just to names a few.
G. Swimming Pool
D’Geting Beach Resort offers a swimming pool service to both adults and children. It also includes lifeguard that take care of the condition of the swimming pool. 1 room allow 5 people to use the swimming pool freely. The swimming pools also open to the public.

According to resort D'Genting Beach Resort, they offer many packages to attract more customers. However, D'Genting Beach Resort offers more than just accommodation packages, such as family day packages, beach wedding, birthday celebration and camping. In addition,
Furthermore, D'Genting Beach Resort mostly offered on family day packages. Where most of the customer was the local customer. Most of the customer will be booking to do their family day in the resort and getting at a cheaper price. The booking for family day package must be 10 room and above. In this package, there have 8 different rooms could be chosen such as the standard rooms with the price in RM90 for a normal day and for the weekend is RM110. Next, for the deluxe rooms with the price is RM100 for normal day and weekend price is RM120.
Besides that, the shera view rooms have divided into different layout with shera view A, shera view B and shera view C rooms. Shere View A rooms with the price on a normal day are RM110 and the weekend price is RM130. For the Shere View B rooms with the price RM130 on a normal day, and RM150 price in a weekend. Shere View C rooms with the price in normal day RM160 and weekend price RM180. Next, shera suite with the price RM290 on a normal day and the weekend price in RM310. In addition, D'Genting Beach Resort also have different accommodation like the cabin view and orange house. Cabin with the price is RM130 and RM150 on normal day and weekend. For the orange house with the price RM160 and RM180 in normal day and weekend.
D'Genting Beach Resort also provides the tent for camping. Customer can rent the tent and set up tents at the seaside annex and enjoy the picnic with the sea view. This activity is more popular with children. Besides that, D'Genting Beach Resort also provides surau for the Muslim compatriots to pray.
Other packages
As we know that the D'Genting Beach Resort was located in a small town Tumpat, Kelantan. In the same way, it located on the Beach Genting which is just near to the chalet, D'Genting Beach Resort is very appropriate for those family and looking for tranquillity. The beach was in big waves and steep, there are not appropriate for a swim. But, it still has many customers going to the beach for a picnic and has fun. The mostly customer was the local customer, especially on the weekends.
Therefore, the resort has provided the barbeque package that is among the most famous activities to the family, friends and children. D'Genting Beach Resort customers with space, facilities and convenience. In addition, the more unique creativity of the resort is that they have the presence of many wooden huts built with burning venue facilities and water pipes.
Besides that, the package for the BBQ is worth RM70 for the BBQ grill and wakaf. For those who choose the BBQ area in wakaf, the maximum of the wakaf is as many 30 people only and includes 15 people were free. If the amount exceeds than 15 people, the price for the venue only is in RM2, for the price of the venue and children’s pool is in RM3 while for the price of the venue and adult’s pool is in RM5.
Furthermore, customer can bring own self facilities and ingredients or to get fresh fish and BBQ facilities such as plate, spoon, cups and the ingredients, customer can get in the Genting Market or customer can wait for the fresh fish around 11 am to 12 pm at the Jetty Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia in the small town.
Strengths/ Potentials of the company
The strength or potential of the D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat is it has many facilities that provided for tourists and visitor. The D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat has provided many parking lots nearby it area and most tourists are parking inside its gate for the safety. Besides that, the D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat also provide the street light outside its area for the tourists to walk at night. It also has provided the playground for the kids and the swimming pool for adults and kids. Moreover, it nearby has a famous ATV caffe, ATV caffe is the shop that you can make a booking for the beach motorbike. It operates time is 2 pm till 6 pm. Some of the tourists, they like to book this beach motorbike to drive surrounding at the Pantai Getting, Tumpat. The most important is the facility in the room that they provided for guest or visitor have made the detail preparation. The room also can be compared with the hotel's room.
Besides that, the strength or potential of the D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat is many activities can be run at there. Many families choose the D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat to having some activities with their family members because it has a big place and suitable for the activities. It is because many place or venue they have limited space and people. So, they will choose the D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat for they will hold the birthday's party for their kids and having the BBQ party. Some of the family-like cycling at nearby D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat with their kids. This also can raise the relationship between with family member. Besides that, it also has space for rent to organize the event. The students and riders mostly will stay at the D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat to have a relaxed time.
Furthermore, the strength or potential of the D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat is its location is strategic so that it chooses to become a tourists attraction. It nearby has the Pantai Getting, Tumpat and has many restaurants. And also, they can visit the Pengkalan Kubor, Tumpat to buy some souvenir. Besides, it nearby also have many tourists attraction and it takes time not more than 30 minutes to visit it.
Challenges/ Constraints faced by the company
The D’Geting Beach Resort, Tumpat is suitable for tourist to visit because it has a beautiful night view and big field that can have activities with family. The D’Geting Beach Resort also have faced many challenges or constraints when operating it.
The challenge or constraint that have been faced by the D’Geting Beach Resort is rainy and monsoon seasons. This seasons will give a big impact to the D’Geting Beach Resort because they have to close their business for a while after the end of the rainy and monsoon seasons. Besides, the tourist and visitor mostly do not travel to the D’Geting Beach Resort during the rainy and monsoon season because afraid of their safety. Unfortunately, if the seasons are prolonged and the floods will occur. For example, The heavy floods happened in 2014 at the Kelantan and area, Tumpat.
Besides that, the D’Geting Beach Resort is located at rural areas also become the challenge or constraint that have been faced by the D’Geting Beach Resort because of many tourists and visitor from outside state or country less information about the location at D’Geting Beach Resort. The lack of information also causes the D’Geting Beach Resort to have to sell their product and services to local tourists. However, the manager should provide more information about the tourist attraction at D’Geting Beach Resort for outbound tourists to know it. For example, marks the location at Google Maps, create Facebook page can encourage many visitors to come and stay at the resort.
The challenge or constraint that have been faced by the D’Geting Beach Resort will become an experience to the D’Geting Beach Resort for improving their management and products and services to tourists because of the previous challenge that has been faced by the D’Geting Beach Resort.
Strategies/Approached applied by the company to survive in this industry
D’Geting Beach Resort management has implemented many strategies that will make the company survive in this industry. The strategies are the management of the resort has decided to make the price for a room is very affordable because the company has a target customers which is people from inside and outside of Kelantan that come for holiday. D’Geting Resort must maintain the price because around the Tumpat area, there is much more resort and this will be competition among them. The next strategy is the resort management has made the resort environment became suitable to the gathering, reunion and many more. This is because D’Geting Resort had a huge space to do some activities such as play the traditional games and they also provide the BBQ grill for those who want to roast chicken, fish and many more because people in Malaysia love to do BBQ at the beach.
Besides, the next strategy is D’Geting Resort to make sure that their facilities are the best because facilities are important to the customer. A fun stay for guests is assured by the facilities and services offered by D’Geting Beach Resort. Feedback channels should not be limited to guest satisfaction surveys and blogs for travel reviews, but should also provide feedback from resort workers. The importance of the feedback is primarily the ability to make sense of the raw data, turning it into concrete steps that can be taken by the hotel to drive Guest Experience Management (GEM) enhancement. The feedback should promote a culture of guest segmentation from an organizational perspective and continuous improvement in providing outstanding guest experiences based on an awareness of the unmet expectations and needs of different segments.
B. Tie staff incentives to guest satisfaction
A resort should put financial incentives in place to instill an organizational emphasis on improving the guest experience. Such incentives might include bonuses based on, for instance, the Net Promoter Score percentage increase. A portion of their annual bonus could be explicitly related to this measure for any manager who impacts guest survey outcomes. A resort's workforce can become increasingly guest-centric in its overall actions by aligning employee benefits with organizational priorities and guest needs. Often, by rewarding workers not only with benefits but better resources to do their jobs, think in terms of building staff morale.
